What an Amazing and Insightful Innovation Workshop @schlutersystemsna #schlutersystemsna

I had the pleasure of attending a hands-on Innovation Workshop hosted by Schluter Systems North America to gain hands-on experience with the systems I love to specify for my Clients' Design Projects. From Waterproofing to Tile History, Schluter has further enlightened my perspective on Construction and Design

Day One:

What an amazing exposure to everything that Schluter Systems offers and the foundational blocks upon which this European-based Company was founded.

AS WELL AS, the amazing hands-on workshop U-Chanel Models, we got to work as a team to work through the Schluter Techniques and #schlutersystemsshuffle

Day Two:

Amazing Information about new products and Trends

As the Linear Drain Becomes More Popular, it is important to understand Key Aspects Associated with the Linear in Difference and Similarity to the Traditional 4" Drain.

And a refreshing understanding of Historic Architectural Tile Setting Methodologies that have lasted the test of time with proper maintenance and Generational Techniques to create Lasting Timeless Environments. Uncoupling and Shearing that we see in current-day construction have solutions for long-term satisfaction.

Key Aspects Associated with the Linear in Difference and Similarity to the Traditional 4" Drain:

1. Maintenance

   1. Linear:

      1. Intended to be cleaned weekly; however, it can be left for monthly or a Cleaning person [when specified, to remove the grate insert properly]

   2. 4" Traditional Shower Drain:

      1. Intended to be flushed or poured out with organic cleaning solutions monthly to help with buildup and other items that catch easily

2. Functionality

   1. Specifications are Important for Linear Drains

      1. Understanding what fixtures are draining through the channel and what your required slope is for the drainage along the shower floor is crucial for any Linear Shower Drainage System

   2. Floor Application Drain

      1. A Traditional 4" Drain is used for Floor Applications such as;

         1. Laundry Rooms

         2. Spa Rooms

         3. Additional Bathroom Drainage

         4. Or where you feel you would like to have a drain that will receive proper maintenance and cleaning

3. Aesthetics of Drains

   1. Linear Drains

      1. Seamless Visual Appearance with specifications planning

   2. 4" Traditional Drain

      1. Has a Multitude of Square or Round Options to fit any Finish and Tile Type from Mosaic to smaller tiles [not larger format, Linear Drain is for Larger Format Tile]

4. Warranty for your Schluter Systems

   1. Tickets, Tags, and Stickers

      1. Helpful Hint/Reminder:

         1. Remove All Stickers and Keep them in a small Notebook for each project and job-specific for your Schluter Systems [Fulsome Bathroom - Shower] that you can turn over to the Client at the end of the Project
