Stumped

It does not happen often, but we have all been there. Working towards our goals, striving for milestones we have dreamed of for years.

I hit a BIG wall at the end of May this year, after walking away from an opportunity that I was hoping to pivot the Brand with and allow for a Creative Space to meet Clients and Professionals; I write to say I have not given up.

I wanted to point out what I have learned as I develop as a Small Business and Design Professional in the Central Alberta Area.

1. Do your Research, Do MORE Research, Ask Questions, and Research Answers

   1. Every City has Archives

2. Have a Plan and A List of your Wishlist and a Separate Sheet for Pros and Cons with Notes for each unit/project

3. Understand your Context - THIS IS A BIG ONE

   1. Make sure to check with your AHJ - This means your Local Officials [AHJ - (Building & Development) Authorities having Jurisdiction]

   2. Understand who you should be working with to bring your Spatial Vision to Life

4. Get all of your “Ducks” in a row

5. This is crucial; maybe create a binder or a digital folder, or even a specific USB stick. You want, your;

   1. A Written Plan with all of your goals and information for your Project

   2. A Vision Board [This can also be a well-organized Pinterest Board]

   3. A Drawn Plan with Labels, Dimensions, and hopefully Wall Views

   4. An organized List of Everything [I mean Everything] you will require from Walls to Micro Decor items to enhance your space

6. Once all of your little duckies are together and ready, you can take your first steps to Begin your Project's Process and Contact your Local AHJs [Authorities having Jurisdiction]. These are integral members to your process and can help guide you through your Project's proper Process

As Exciting transformations are underway, do not forget to photograph everything. Bluppers are always helpful, and funny photos help create lasting memories.
