Let’s gush about Faucet goals and read through for important things to keep in mind when considering Plumbing Faucets [Fixtures]
First, understanding the Purpose of your Faucet:
Utility - Kitchen, Laundry Room, Boot Room, Servery, Pantry, Chef's Kitchen, Bar
Bathroom or Washroom - Powder, Main, Ensuite
Commercial - Whole Other specification for Warranty understanding, not all Home products can be used in Commercial. Please always review the Manufacturer's Specifications
What are your Goals:
A. Cost-Effective
B. Function
C. Aesthetic
If Cost is your key goal and you are hoping to keep your costs for fixture and installation [little birdy noises] more cost-effective, STEER CLEAR of widespread or wall-mounted fixtures that can require more labour
Finding Function is always nice, from touchless faucets to articulating [moving] arms; the Fixtures that best fit your overall Goals are always important.
Aesthetics or Visually Appealing is always nice to consider. From what Style best fits your overall Design, to the different Visual Languages and Seams of a Fixture.
Now, let's mention a few key Faucet Terms:

Here are some Plumbing Fixture Brands and what to look out for as you configure your plumbing systems.
Only a few Major Brands: [check out this link for more information on all brands and how they rate - Link]
A. Rubinet
B. Tenzo
C. Delta
D. Moen
While each brand possesses its own benefits and features, when selecting your Plumbing Fixtures, there are a few other items to keep in mind for cost purposes.
Example:
If you are combining pieces to create a Shower Trim Kit, for example, and you have a ceiling mount rainhead with a 4" arm, two handheld sprayers on sliding bars with wall water connections. This can be done from any brand; however, certain Brands could offer the Trim Kits and Valves separately, and others can be created from individual pieces that the brands offer
Things to Keep in Mind:
All Shower Faucets Require a Trim Kit [on the wall that you see] and a diverter valve [in the handle most times]
If you are considering (a) wall-mounted faucet(s), most times this is similar to Shower Faucets and requires a valve [in the wall]
