Below are some helpful graphics to help explain what the Design and Construction Professionals are saying:
Lavatory or Vanity Faucet: Bathroom Sink Tap [Faucet]
Wall Mounted [wall-mounted]: Installed on the Wall with Single or Wide Spread Handle Options
Wide Spread Faucet [8" on centre]: Installed on the Vanity Countertop with Handles 8" on centre apart
4" Spread Faucet: Installed on the Vanity Countertop as a tight Spread with the Handles attached to the Spout
Single Hole Faucet: Installed on the Vanity Countertop with a Single Hole and Handles [or Wave Sensor for Commercial Automatic Faucets]
Vessel Hole Faucet: Required most times when installing a Vessel Sink [on top of Countertop], Extra Tall Vanity Faucet with Handle(s)
Pop Up Drain: Ideal for New Sinks and is activated by a push motion to lift the drain instead of a handle to pull [traditional]
Overflow: Required by Canadian Standards*, this is the small hole near the top of the vanity sink to allow for drainage before the sink overfills
